International Congress on Community Nursing![]() // WELCOMING MESSAGE The Nursing School of Porto regularly promotes International Congress on Community Nursing. To deepen knowledge in this subject is our major purpose. The International Congress on Community Nursing comprehends a series of important working sessions, related to chronic diseases, pandemics and psychosocial work stressors. Nowadays, the disease preventing measures, helping people to adopt a healthier lifestyle and end discrepancies in health conditions should all focus on chronic diseases. These diseases interfere in disability situations, countries growing trend of health costs, self-sufficient healthcare systems and worldwide high mortality. Although in recent years the chronic diseases have a greater prevalence in the population, the infectious diseases continue to challenge health professionals. Thus it is necessary to further develop knowledge and skills to understand the relationship between key variables disease-related, transmission and control of infectious diseases. Hence, nursing professionals play different roles in forecasting, identifying, monitoring, preparing and responding to first emerging signs of pandemics, and must take over leadership in this context. In recent years, the dramatic increase in the overall level of chronic non-communicable diseases is also playing an important role in the development of initiatives related to health promotion in the workplace. The acknowledgement of work contexts as an important setting for the promotion of health and wellbeing has been emphasized by organizations such as the United Nations World Economic Forum. For the effectiveness of health promotion related interventions, one must take into consideration multiple work stressors, namely psychosocial. In this context, all healthcare professionals should be encouraged to explore, reflect, and update their knowledge. ESEP undertakes great responsibility in the continuous training of nurses, commits to respond to society demands, engaging in a wider understanding of illness causes, development and consequences of all these phenomena with profound impact on public healthcare. We welcome you to take this opportunity to partake in the formal and informal sessions for debate and interaction. We invite you all, colleagues and friends, to enjoy our "Ancient, Very Noble, Always Loyal, Undefeated City of Porto” warming people and beautiful sites. // DRAFT AGENDA // SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 31st January 2015 // REGISTRATION Registration fee: 80,00€ Students & teachers from ESEP: 20,00 € For further information: eventos@esenf.pt |
